Winemaker
Made on a small Lodi estate β Grenache on deep sandy loam over granitic alluvium, with the fine tokay sands on the east side. Anonymous by design: the trade name is revealed on commitment, after the samples and the data have done the talking.
These vines sit on deep sandy loam over granitic alluvium, with the fine tokay sands on the east side at 10β40 m. The estate has farmed Lodi, California for generations; we kept the old blocks and rebuilt the cellar around gravity.
βRain when we wanted it, then it dried out. The vines are carrying a fair crop; I'll likely drop fruit at veraison to keep the rest honest.β
β the winemaker, updated this month
Whole bunches when the stems are ripe, destemmed when they're not. Native ferment, long and slow. mediterranean with hot days cooled by a delta breeze drawn up from san francisco bay does most of the shaping β restraint does the rest.

Dug soil pits across the old block. You can watch the deep sandy loam over granitic alluvium, with the fine tokay sands on the east side change with every shovel β it's why no two rows here taste the same.
