About this Crew

Revealed on enrollment
Winemaker
The grower here farms Cabernet Sauvignon on franciscan shale, sandstone, and decomposed granite in Santa Cruz Mountains. Their name is withheld on the public listing and shared with the Crew on enrollment — what you can judge now is the place, the live data feed, and the samples across the season.
We kept the planting records. Block by block you can read which year went in and why — the early rows on franciscan shale, sandstone, and decomposed granite, the later infill, the one parcel nobody can explain.
“No big gaps between the early and late rows. Flowering went past without drama. The vines look after themselves on franciscan shale, sandstone, and decomposed granite.”
— the winemaker, updated this month
I farm the same blocks my predecessors did and haven't found a reason to change much. Mountain microclimates above the fog, ocean-cooled on the seaward side. Pick on taste, ferment clean, age in wood that's already seasoned.

No joke: the first shoots are up. We walked the property and flagged the gaps to replant — franciscan shale, sandstone, and decomposed granite here doesn't forgive a lazy season.

Crew chat went live this week. Already a debate about pick date versus hang time — exactly the argument I want you in on.
