Made on a small Coonawarra estate — Cabernet Sauvignon on iconic terra rossa over free-draining limestone. Anonymous by design: the trade name is revealed on commitment, after the samples and the data have done the talking.
The history.
The old terraces were going back to scrub when we took them on. We rebuilt the walls, replanted the gaps, and left the survivors; the oldest vines here have outlasted three owners.

Philosophy.
I came up watching Cabernet Sauvignon get pushed too hard for ripeness. I pick earlier than my neighbors, keep the alcohol down, and let Coonawarra speak at its own volume.

Finished pruning the home block today. My hands are reminding me how many cuts that is. The oldest vines on iconic terra rossa over free-draining limestone get pruned last, by me, every year.

Reservoir check came back lower than I'd like. We'll dry-farm the old vines and water only the young ones. Less wine, but the right wine.
