Winemaker

The grower here farms Chardonnay on kimmeridgian limestone marl full of fossil oyster shells in Chablis. Their name is withheld on the public listing and shared with the Crew on enrollment β€” what you can judge now is the place, the live data feed, and the samples across the season.

The history.

My family didn't set out to make fine wine; they set out to use the land they had. Chablis at 130–280 m, kimmeridgian limestone marl full of fossil oyster shells, and a cellar dug into the hill.

What this vintage is showing so far.

β€œNo big gaps between the early and late rows. Flowering went past without drama. The vines look after themselves on kimmeridgian limestone marl full of fossil oyster shells.”

β€” the winemaker, updated this month

Philosophy.

My rule is simple: don't make a decision the vineyard already made for me. Kimmeridgian limestone marl full of fossil oyster shells sets the acid and the tannin; I keep the cellar clean and the timing honest.

Frost candles staged at the bottom of the slope, just in case. Bud break on the Chardonnay is right on time. Cool semi-continental, frost-prone in spring.

No joke: the first shoots are up. We walked the property and flagged the gaps to replant β€” kimmeridgian limestone marl full of fossil oyster shells here doesn't forgive a lazy season.
