The history.

My family didn't set out to make fine wine; they set out to use the land they had. Burgenland at 120–300 m, loam, gravel and slate around the shallow neusiedlersee, and a cellar dug into the hill.

What this vintage is showing so far.

β€œRain when we wanted it, then it dried out. The vines are carrying a fair crop; I'll likely drop fruit at veraison to keep the rest honest.”

Philosophy.

Whole bunches when the stems are ripe, destemmed when they're not. Native ferment, long and slow. warm pannonian, with lake-driven autumn mists does most of the shaping β€” restraint does the rest.
