The Montepulciano pushed its first leaves overnight β two days ahead of what my notebook says. adriatic-warmed hills backed by the cool apennine massif is running warm. I'll take it, cautiously.

About this Crew

Revealed on enrollment
Winemaker
Montepulciano grapes on clay-limestone hills between the Apennines and the Adriatic. The estate behind this lot is named only to enrolled members; until then you're backing the region, the style, and a verified track record β not a label.
These vines sit on clay-limestone over alluvial gravel on rolling hills at 150β450 m. The estate has farmed Loreto Aprutino, Abruzzo for generations; we kept the old blocks and rebuilt the cellar around gravity.
βCooler nights than usual through spring. Flowering was clean. Cautiously optimistic about where this vintage is heading.β
β the winemaker, updated this month
Less, but better. Clay-limestone over alluvial gravel on rolling hills grows fruit with its own grip, so I extract gently and stay out of the way. No additions I can avoid, no oak that talks over the place.

Dug soil pits across the old block. You can watch the clay-limestone over alluvial gravel on rolling hills change with every shovel β it's why no two rows here taste the same.
